We’re proud to be the Portland’s largest family-owned and operated brewery. Our pubs are urban HUBs for our neighbors and community. We are committed to investing in our local community and economy through our Community Tap Program, we sponsor numerous bike-and-walk programs, support local schools, and provide employees with volunteer opportunities in the neighborhood. We source local ingredients to enrich the local economy and reduce our carbon footprint. And we have plenty of bike parking everywhere, because we believe the best way to get around the neighborhood is on two wheels.

Our Community Tap program helps keep our community healthy and vibrant—expanding what it means to model sustainability. We partner with like-minded, local, nonprofit organizations that we admire and respect by donating 1% of all pint sale proceeds to that month’s featured organization. Learn more about our Community Tap program here.

Kids are a welcome addition to our restaurants. We have delicious food items for kids, along with plenty of toys and books in our play areas to keep even the most active young minds engaged while you enjoy a fresh, organic beer.

Thinker Toys proudly sponsors the kid’s play area at Hopworks Urban Brewery and SpielWerk Toys proudly sponsors the kid’s play area at Hopworks BikeBar.

Keep on Riding

Bicycles are a permanent fixture in the everyday lives of Portlanders. We may be biased but we’re huge fans of bicycles – they make excellent pedal-powered transportation and they are a ton of fun. We are a Certified Bike Friendly Business, we have decorated our pubs with bikes, and we have extensive bike parking at all our locations. One of our brewpubs, BikeBar, can even receive energy from the pedal bikes in the front of the restaurant.

It’s true, we love bikes! That’s why we support many of our favorite Portland bike events and businesses:

Handmade Bike & Beer Festival

The Handmade Bike & Beer Festival brings together two of Portland’s favorite activities for one exciting weekend mash up. The family-friendly festival takes place every Fall at Hopworks’ Powell location.

The festival features over thirty custom bike-frame builders showcasing a wide range of bikes from road bicycles to custom cargo bikes. Local brewers pour refreshing hand-crafted beer, alongside bike performances, live music, local food vendors, the historic “Huffy Huck Contest,” and many more fun and games for all.

Come to the next Handmade Bike & Beer Festival! More information is available here and tickets will be available in September.

We are grateful to support local and hard working organizations through our donation process of discounted beer to qualifying organizations. Interested?

Over the years, we have found great organizations we feel great about supporting in one way another. This is just a sampling of the groups we’ve worked with to make our community a better place:

For the last 25 years, the Bicycle Transportation Alliance has been hard at work creating healthy, sustainable communities by making biking safe and accessible for everyone.

20+ year-old organization committed to increasing tree canopy, restoring green spaces, and building community. Volunteer with FOT to plant trees in your neighborhood, or work with them to get a tree in your yard!

Since 1993, NWEI has been leading the curious and the motivated to take responsibility for Earth. Through discussion courses and the annual EcoChallenge, NWEI engages you and your community in meaningful conversations that lead to “Aha!” moments about the way you live, work, create and consume.

Northwest Trail Alliance is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization based in Portland, Oregon whose mission is to create, enhance, and protect mountain bike riding opportunities; to advocate for trail access; to promote responsible mountain biking; and to build, maintain, and ride sustainable trails.

OEC’s mission is to advance innovative, collaborative solutions to Oregon’s environmental challenges for today and future generations.

Trillium is Oregon’s leader in providing mental and behavioral healthcare to children and families. We have supported Trillium’s efforts to give every child in their care a joyous Christmas.

Thank You

There are a host of other groups in Portland and elsewhere that we wouldn’t be the same without. A sincere thanks to:
