Drink Beer and Cider in Support The Street Trust!
Posted on May 3, 2018
Every month we support an environmental organization through our Community Tap program. We send them 1% of all our pint sale proceeds from our three pubs – so every time you drink beer at one of our pubs you’re also supporting a local nonprofit. This month, we’re proud to support The Street Trust during their Bike More Challenge month!
The Street Trust (formerly known as the Bicycle Transportation Alliance) is an advocate for walking, biking and transit with 25 years of successfully promoting bicycling and alternative modes of transportation. They organize the annual Bike More Challenge, and they lead programs such as Women Bike, Walk + Roll to School, and more. Their Safe Routes to School program brings bikes and bike safety curriculum to schools and teachers throughout the region. In every class they encounter kids who have never had the opportunity to learn to ride a bike.
So many of our neighborhoods lack the infrastructure necessary for walking, biking and transit to be safe and convenient. The Street Trust educate decision makers about the need for investments in complete sidewalks, protected bike lanes, safe crossings and safe transit stops. The Street Trust has secured hundreds of millions of dollars in improvements.
We love The Street Trust and are excited to partner with them this month. Hop on your bike, come in to any of our pubs, and enjoy a pint for The Street Trust! If you haven’t checked out the 20s Greenway that placed a safe bike crossing across Powell just one block from our pub – you should check it out!
